The Gingerbread Man
L'Ometto di Pan Pepato

The Gingerbread Man/L’Ometto di Pan Pepato, our first bilingual English / Italian children’s play in a new adaptation by published novelist Penny Culliford, was a sure success. In December, we played and received a warm welcome from The Italian Cultural Institute, the Scalabrini Centre, St Peters Catholic Youth Club, Cambridge Italian Club, the Italian Bookshop and St Luke's Community Centre

The production is now on tour to Rome (23rd-27th November 2009).

This page also features a number of bilingual PDFs, including audience feedback, synopses and details of the Gingerbread Man Education Pack.

Production shots (December 2009)
Cast - Phil Gerrard - Eugenia Caruso - Nadia Ostacchini

The production is based on a new adaptation by published novelist, children's writer, drama and creative writing teacher Penny Culliford, with music by actor/musician Carole Carpenter.  The production director is Liz Felton.  The cast includes Eugenia Caruso, joint winner of the The Stage Award for Best Actress in Edinburgh in 2007.

We are currently accepting bookings for 2009/10 and are especially keen to hear from Italian schools with children from 4-10 years, as well as any Italian communities who would like us to travel to them to perform our show.

We are also seeking funding to enable us to take the production to Rome and Milan.  Please see our Sponsors page for details of how you can help.  Scroll down this page for a click-to-play video excerpt from the play.

Live Performance Video Excerpts

The click-to-play video compilation on the left was made during a live performance of The Gingerbread Man in 2008.

The compilation illustrates the bilingual nature of the show, the versatility of Tricolore's actors (Nadia Ostacchini, Eugenia Caruso and Phil Gerrard), the inclusion of children in the action and, above all, the joyous audience response.
